Community Safety Night

This event will provide the residents of York Mills an update about what trends we are seeing in crime (e.g., break-ins) in our neighbourhood, and provide tips to our residents as to what they can do to keep their homes and our community safe and provide residents and YMNA members the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.The Venue will be confirmed shortly. Our Guest Speaker is Joel Roberts, Community Relations Officer, 33 Division, City of Toronto.We will provide the residents and YMNA members the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments on what we can do in our community to keep it safe.

Community Environment Day

April 10, 2022

York Mills Collegiate Institute – 490 York Mills Road 

Environment Day is a great opportunity to clear out items found during spring cleaning such as used electronics, paints, solvents and glue, batteries, household hazardous waste, and fluorescent bulbs. Up to two free bags of compost per household will be available for pick-up, while supplies last. In addition to properly disposing of non-landfill items, the City will also be collecting donations of:

  • Sporting goods;
  • Books (excluding textbooks);
  • Cameras, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays;
  • Dress-up clothing and costume jewelry;
  • Clothing, footwear, accessories, and linens;
  • Small household items;
  • Musical instruments and board games;
  • Eyeglasses, walking aids, and hearing aids; and
  • Non-perishable food.

The YMNA will be attending and having a presence at this community cleanup. You can find more information on the items that will be accepted for drop-off or donation at my Community Environment Days by visiting the City's website.

Community Safety Night

As the city grows, becoming more busy and dangerous, the importance of community safety increases. Our community safety night gives YMNA residents a chance to interact with Police representatives from local 32 and 33 divisions to discuss key safety concerns and solutions.
